Beautiful vintage French double-strand festoon necklace featuring an elaborate arrangement of faceted golden-yellow glass beads and ornate gold-tone filigree stations.
The necklace is constructed with two hand-linked strands accented by abundant clusters of sparkling glass beads. Decorative openwork floral filigree elements are positioned throughout, with additional dangling bead clusters creating a full, dimensional bib or fringe effect. The warm honey-yellow glass catches the light beautifully and ranges from pale champagne to deeper golden tones.
The adjustable hook clasp is marked “MADE IN FRANCE.”
This is a wonderfully ornate piece of early French costume jewelry, likely dating to approximately the 1930s–1940s. Its double-strand construction and dramatic clustered design give it a luxurious couture appearance.
Length: Adjustable from approximately 14 to 15.5 inches.
Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related wear. The gold-tone metal shows finish loss, oxidation, darkening and areas of verdigris. The glass beads have minor surface wear and may have small nicks or flea bites consistent with age and use. No major breaks were observed, and the necklace appears wearable.
